Hello, I'm Georgia, a relational integrative psychotherapist based in North London. I have supported clients with their therapuetic journeys for almost a decade.

I'm committed to helping my clients to make sense of their distress and challenges. Some of the ways I do this by supporting my clients to...

...understand how their past contributes to their present and their distress

... improve self esteem and self awareness

.... build greater emotional regulation and tolerance

... be aware of and understand their defensive processes

... build secure relationships

.... form a stronger sense of identity

If this sounds like what you are seeking, please get in touch.

Services

Individual

I have almost a decade of experience working with clients on their therapeutic journeys. Our individual therapy sessions are designed to address and explore your specific concerns. Through a collaborative and empathic approach, I aim to empower you to understand your emotional distress and defences in the context of your life experiences and relationships. I work with all age ranges from adolescents upwards.

Eating Disorder and Body Image Therapy

I have spent many years supporting those who identify with experiencing eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, ARFID and EDNOS. I have additional training in CBT-E for Eating Disorders so I am able offer a therapeutic approach that helps you identify and take practical steps to recovery alongside building emotional and meaningful insight.

Sexual and Relational Trauma

The harsh truth of working in mental health is that many of my clients have experienced the trauma of sexual trauma and abusive relationships. I believe it is extremely important to be knowledgeable to properly and appropriately support my clients to process their trauma in a safe and compassionate therapeutic space. This is one of the reasons I chose to volunteer at a non-profit organisation specialising in delivering therapy for survivors of sexual abuse and domestic violence. I also engaged in specialist training to develop a keen awareness of trauma informed psychotherapeutic practice and interventions.

Emerging Adulthood

Our late teens and early twenties can be a really exciting time, with many new opportunities, change, and experiences. It also can be stressful and overwhelming whilst we become more independent and explore who we are and would like to become. I have almost a decade of experience of working with teenagers and young adults therapeutically, helping them through the transition into adulthood alongside supporting their emotional and mental health.

My Approach

Courage and Vulnerability

Your emotional defences and relationship patterns have been established to protect you from psychological pain. Your dedication to attend therapy to understand and possibly change these processes is both a vulnerable and courageous commitment. I empathise with your need for defences, your strategies of disconnection, and with the your ongoing desire for (re)connection and change.

Difference and Intersectionality

I hold that we are all imperfect human beings, and all have different experiences informed by different socio-cultural backgrounds. I believe to be truly empathic and non-judgmental we must acknowledge diversity and difference. For me, operating from an intersectional standpoint builds awareness of how culture and identity can shape our thoughts, behaviours, belief systems, and relationships. I do my best to set aside my assumptions and step into your worldview.

Integration and Pluralism

I presume that people suffer from a multitude of problems within a unique personality situated within a particular context. There is, therefore, no one way of knowing or making sense of who you are or what you are going through. Our integrative therapy sessions focus on your unique needs, allowing for a collaborative therapeutic experience that helps you to make sense of your distress and experiences.
